FITTING YOUR HUB DRIVE AND PRECISION MOUNT

Below are the names of all the parts that will come with your kit- please make yourself familiar with them before we proceed

Abec 11 Flywheel  Hub Drive fitting

Step 1
Line up the 3 legs of the Hub drive (fig.1 Above) and push the  Drive hub into the Abec 11 Flywheel central core – it should be a snug fit.

Step 2
Place the wheel on a flat, hard surface and using a mallet tap the Hub drive until it is fully seated in the Wheel.

Using the M3 dome head bolts (fig.2 Above)  and retainer ring (fig.3 Above) secure the hub in place – these only need to be tightened lightly to remove any slack.

Precision Caliber Mount fitment and assembly

Your Precision Caliber mount will come partially assembled – and ready to fit to the Caliber truck. With the trucks already fitted to your deck – you can begin final assembly.

WE RECOMMEND USING LOCTITE THREAD LOCK SOLUTION WHEN MAKING THE FINAL FITTING AS IT’S A HARSH AND HIGH VIBRATION ENVIRONMENT

Step 1
Firstly fit the Motor to the Motor Plate securing with the M4 x8mm bolts provided.

Step 2
Then fit the Motor Pulley and Keysteel to the Motor Shaft, securing with the M3 Grub Screw.

Step 3
Slide the whole assembly onto the Caliber Truck.

Step 4
Then place the Belt over the Motor Pulley Flange and fit the Abec Wheel with Hub Drive – this is just a loose fitting at the moment.

Step 5
Fully tighten the wheel nut in place.

Step 6
The belt should be a loose fit at this stage, if not slide the motor plate up to the clamp plate to shorten the centre distance.

Step 7
Now this is the most important part of the fitting. Belt alignment, the belt needs to be perfectly aligned with the motor pulley and drive hub pulley. this will give better belt life and better range.
To achieve this the Bracket must be at 90 degrees to the truck hanger

Step 8
Tighten the top M6 x 20mm bolt first until it is just nipping the clamp –IT IS MOST IMPORTANT that you tighten this bolt first as it has a short thread depth .
Then tighten the bottom  M6 x 25mm bolt align the assembly so the two pulleys are in line, taking care to ensure the bracket is perpendicular to the truck.

Step 9
Alignment can be easily checked by simply spinning the wheel around by hand and if aligned correctly the belt will stay in the middle. TAKE YOUR TIME OVER THIS SECTION – when you are happy with the alignment you can tighten the M6 bolts fully – locking the top shorter one first then fully tightening the longer bottom bolt last, whilst all the time check alignment as it will move as you tighten it.
You may need to hold the bracket /motor in place as you tighten.

Step 10
Now you are ready to tension the Belt , lightly clamp the Motor Plate using the 4 x M4 bolts so it just holds the plate in place.

Step 11
Take a flat bladed screwdriver and place it in the slot at the front of the ADS logo and gently apply pressure to tension the belt – then tighten the bolts fully.

Step 12
The belt wants to be of a medium tension, too tight and the motor wont spin freely and too loose and the belt will slip.

Step 13
Now finally check all the bolts are fully tighten and your ready to ride!
